Yolanda von Yarmin is a gorgeous 18 month old German Shepherd.   She’s not sure how she wound up in a shelter so is a little timid but we are working to build up her confidence. We are taking it slow and giving her time to adjust. On walks she will mostly walk behind you and loud noises will scare her. Comforting words and petting will let her know that there’s nothing to fear. Once she is comfortable with you, she will ask for your attention. She becomes a very loving, sweet girl after a while, even giving you kisses. Yolanda is more confident when she is around other dogs. She seems to follow them around to see what they are up to. Being in a playgroup with other dogs seems new to her but she handled it well and even tolerated some in-your-face canines by simply walking away from them. She is actually learning to be more affectionate just by watching other dogs. If she sees another dog getting petted, she comes up to you and expects that same affection. She will be great with an easy-going dog that can teach her new things. We know that the best is yet to come for this mellow girl as she learns that most people are kind and the world offers a lot of fun things for her to enjoy.
